Frequently Asked Questions for Weddings at Rockingham

 

Is the wedding venue available for exclusive hire?
All weddings and events at Rockingham Castle are booked exclusively, there will be no other events taking place on your wedding day.

 

Do you allow candles?
Yes, we do allow candles providing they are securely in place and in the appropriate holder.

 

Do you allow confetti?
Biodegradable confetti is allowed in the courtyard & gardens.

 

Do you allow drones?
We do not allow drones.

 

Do you allow fireworks?
Yes, fireworks are permitted. The show must finish before 10.30pm and your supplier must provide the Estate Office with  all the relevant paperwork including licence, risk assessment & public liability insurance two months prior to your big day.

 

Do we have to use your recommended suppliers?
You do not have to use our recommended suppliers. We do ask that your chosen suppliers arrange an appointment with the Estate Office at least two months prior to your wedding to show them the Castle and discuss any requirements.

 

What time does the bar and music finish?
Last orders in the Undercroft bar are at 11.30pm with music finishing at 11.45pm. Carriages at midnight.

 

Do you have accommodation on site?
As we are a family home, there is no accommodation on site.  We do work closely with the Rockingham Forest Best Western and the Hampton by Hilton. Details available upon request.

 

How much will the initial deposit be and when is the final payment due?
The initial deposit is 50% of your hire fee.  Final payment is due six weeks before your wedding day.

 

Is VAT included in the prices given to us?
Yes VAT is included in all wedding quotations.

 

How do we book the registrars for our civil ceremony?
Please contact Northamptonshire Registration Service on 0330 126 1000 or make a ceremony enquiry online.

 

Who will be the point of contact in the lead-up to the wedding?
You will be introduced to your dedicated wedding manager in the run up to your wedding who will help you build and co ordinate your day.

 

Is there enough parking for all our guests?
Rockingham Castle does have free parking on site. Your guests are welcome to leave their cars overnight but we do ask they are collected before 10am the following morning.

 

What menu options do you have and do you cater for special dietary requirements?
All our menus are flexible and we can create bespoke menus on request.  All special dietary requirements including vegan, gluten free, dairy free can be catered for separately.

 

Do we receive a menu tasting?
Yes, the couples’ menu tasting is complimentary. For the menu tasting you will be asked to pre order up to two options of each course to try.

 

Can I bring my own caterers?
No, all catering must be booked with our in-house catering team.

 

Are crockery and linen included in the price?
Yes, crockery & linen are included in the catering costs.

 

What are your bar prices and is it cash only?
Our bar list can be found here.  The bar accepts cash, credit or debit cards (American Express not accepted)

 

Can you have real ale on the bar?
We can supply a keg of ale for wedding guests at an additional charge.

 

What’s the cancellation policy?
Should you cancel your wedding at Rockingham Castle we are unable to refund your deposit.
