Visiting the Castle

  • There is parking onsite at the Castle at no additional cost.
  • Some rooms of the Castle are still in use by the family or are part of the day to day working of the Castle and therefore are not open to visitors. For information on rooms that you can visit, please see our Castle Tour page.
  • We regret that, unless booked as part of a group visit, the Castle and Grounds are closed to visitors on all other days.

For our Younger Visitors.
We have masses of big open spaces for children to run around in and enjoy themselves. You are free to bring games to play but please refrain from playing ball games in the formal part of the garden.

Pushchairs.
Due to the delicate nature of the contents in the Castle and the narrow passageways, we regret we are unable to allow pushchairs inside of the Castle.

Dogs.
Dogs are most welcome in the Gardens so long as they are kept under control and on a lead. With the exception of guide and assistance dogs we do not allow dogs in the Castle.

Historic Houses Association.
Rockingham Castle is a member of Historic Houses. Members are welcome to visit the Castle on all open days utilising their membership with the exception of the Jousting (16th June 2019), Vikings (25th & 26th August 2019) & Victorian Christmas (27th November to 1st December) event when the event entry fee applies (please see our events page). More information about the Historic Houses can be found at https://www.historichouses.org/
