Hundreds enjoy spooky family fun

Half term Halloween fun was enjoyed by hundreds of families during Rockingham Castle’s four-day spooky event.

Cobwebs, skeletons and other ghostly decorations added to the exciting atmosphere in the castle’s historic gardens and rooms, and the pumpkin-rollings, biscuit-decorating, quizzes and trails hosted by the popular Witches of Rockingham, were a continued hit.

On Facebook David commented: “We bring our three children every year and it gets better and better.”

Jean added: “Thank you so much, we had such a good day. My granddaughters especially loved the pumpkin-rolling.”

Caroline, a visitor who shared pictures on Instagram said: “It was such a wonderful event. The children had such fun with all the activities and we will definitely look to visit the castle again.”

Rockingham Castle owner, James Saunders Watson, was pleased with the event – the third time the castle has run Halloween celebrations. He said: “We are so pleased to have hosted yet another successful Halloween extravaganza during the October half term and are delighted to have had such positive feedback. Our historic castle rooms are perfect for hosting ghostly activities, and our guides were brilliant at getting into character as the Witches of Rockingham.”
