We offer a variety of school trips for a range of ages at Rockingham Castle. With a living history spanning 950 years, it’s the perfect location for children to learn more about their chosen topic, that links to the school curriculum. The topics we cover are a general castle tour, Norman/Medieval castle tour, Tudor Life int eh 16th century, The Civil War and the 17th Century and Victorian Life Upstairs and Downstairs.

Every school trip to Rockingham Castle follows an itinerary set before the trip, depending on the requirements by each school. A typical School Trip to Rockingham is as follows:

  • The coach ‘drops off’ at the castle Tower entrance.
  • Your chosen guides for the day will escort all groups around the Castle.
  • You will be provided a dedicated room or area to store all your belongings and packed lunches for the duration of your visit.
  • For the afternoon, you have time to explore the gardens, grounds, St Leonards Church, dungeon and the Icehouse.
