Can I buy tickets on arrival?

No all tickets must be purchased online before the visit.


Do I need to print my tickets?

You can either print your tickets or show them on your phone or device.


Can I arrive at a different time than what is on my ticket?

The start time will be issued on your ticket but you can arrive anytime between your allocated time slot.

If you have purchased a Castle tour, your tour time is the time printed on your ticket. You have access to the gardens before and after your allotted Castle tour.


I’m a Historic Houses member, how do I organise tickets? 

Please email the estate office to organise your tickets. You will need to state the date and time you wish to visit, send your historic houses membership number and your contact phone number.

Please allow at least one working day to enable us to process your ticket.


I have a 2 for 1 voucher I wish to use, how do I organise tickets?

Please email the estate office to organise your tickets. We will advise you of the process.

Is there an onsite car park? 

Yes, this a large onsite car park which is a five minute walk from the Castle.  There is a small number of accessible car parking spaces also available. Please ask for directions to this car park on arrival.


Do I have to pay for parking?

No, car parking is included in your admission ticket.


I have a question about access in the Castle and Gardens, what should I do?

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome in the gardens on a lead.  A water bowl is available in the Courtyard.


I have an infant, do they need a ticket?

All children 3 and under will receive free entry, they do not need a ticket.


Can I buy something to eat at the Castle? 

Yes, our Outdoor courtyard tea room is open from 11am – 3pm on our open days.  A menu of what is on offer can be found here


Can I bring a picnic?

Yes you are more than welcome to bring your own picnic to have in the gardens.  We ask that all rubbish is disposed of in the bins provided or taken home with you.


Does the Castle have seating?

At the moment, due to current government guidelines, we do not have picnic benches available.  You are welcome to either sit on the grass or bring a camping chair. From 7th July, seating will be available in our Courtyard. There are some benches spaced around the gardens for those who struggle to walk longer distances.


I have booked a tour of the Castle, does this include entry to the Gardens? 

Yes, if you have booked a Castle tour this includes entry to the Gardens throughout the day. The gardens are open from 10.30am – 4pm.
