Jousting family fun at Rockingham Castle this Father’s Day
There will be medieval magic at Rockingham Castle this Father’s Day – Sunday 16th June – as the much-loved family event, Knights of Nottingham, makes a thrilling return.
The castle grounds will come alive between 12-5pm, as armoured knights wow crowds with their performances of bravery – fighting on horseback with steel-bladed swords and axes, and waving colourful baronial banners as they battle good over evil.
An authentic medieval living history village, captivating fire-eaters, jesters and story-tellers will add to the excitement, mystery and legend during the event.
Rockingham Castle’s owner, James Saunders Watson said: “Our jousting experience proves evermore popular, year-on-year. There are always smiles and fun everywhere, and what better way to spend Father’s Day than enjoying some real family entertainment in the heart of our historic Castle grounds.”
The Castle will be open, and families can also enjoy the grounds, gardens and picnic areas during the event. Dogs are also welcome.
James added: “Our pop-up outlets include a delicious Hog Roast and shop selling everything an aspiring young knight needs for their own make-believe jousting battle. Our Walkers House Café will also be open, serving lunches, teas and snacks to visitors. Families really will be able to make the most of their day during this event.”
