Vikings at Rockingham Castle

Vikings are coming! August 2014

12noon Grounds open to see the living history encampment, witness Saxons & Vikings making weapons, coins and wood- turning. Have-a-go archery is available next to the Viking encampment at a small additional charge.

12noon Walkers House tea rooms are open for waitress service lunches, teas and cakes. Takeaway service available from the Walkers House Undercroft.

12:30, 13:30 & 14.30 Outside tours take place lasting around 40 minutes – simply gather at the signed meeting point in the courtyard ( no additional charge)

13:00-13:45 Weapon demonstration in the arena on the Tilting Lawn. The scene will be set with their initial battles.

13:00 Castle opens for free flow tours

14:00 Story telling in the Saxon encampment on the Tilting Lawn

14:30-15:15 Let battle commence in the arena

15:30 Story telling in the Saxon encampment on the Tilting Lawn

16:30 Last entry into the Castle and tearooms

17:00 Close
