Summer Family Fun at Rockingham Castle
Summer holidays are here so parents will be looking for fun things to do. Rockingham Castle has pulled out the stops to provide great entertainment for children of all ages during August.
Rockingham Castle is a wonderful family-friendly location for a day out. Wentworth the Griffin, the gallant guardian of the Castle, has lost his armour! Careless? Yes! His dignity can be restored by our visitors helping him find it again. A Badge of Honour is awarded to every child who finds the armour as a sign of Wentworth’s eternal gratitude.
In the year of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday we have celebrated this remarkable achievement with a quiz to mark the event. Located around the Castle gardens are pictures of items that define her majesty and her reign, all a bit of good royal fun!
Information on both of the challenges will be given to visitors upon arrival at the Castle.
The Castle’s Operation’s Manager, Laurie Prashad said “The Gardens of the Castle provide a wonderful backdrop for the children to enjoy themselves with the two quiz’s. There is also plenty of open space for children and families to relax and enjoy the gardens, views and generally have a great day out”.
Rockingham Castle grounds and Walker’s House Restaurant open at 12 noon. The Castle opens at 1pm with last entry at 4.30pm. Details of the Castle & events taking place can be found at www.rockinghamcastle.com
