Northamptonshire Heritage Week
Monday 7th September to Friday 11th September 2015
Rockingham Castle opens its doors specifically to support the heritage week on Monday 7th September. The theme for this special event focuses on Northamptonshire’s importance during a millennium of monarch making.
Our knowledgeable guides will be offering tours throughout the afternoon. They will delight in disclosing the early history of Rockingham as a royal castle and the visits from the kings and queens of England.
For this special opening, the tours are being offered at the reduced rate of £10.50 which is payable at the ticket office upon arrival. Spaces for each individual tour time will be given on arrival to the ticket office.
Places on the tours are limited however, so you would be wise to book ahead. Simply log on to www.heritageweek.co.uk to make your booking.
If you want to wander the gardens only, which are currently in full bloom, there is a ‘grounds only’ ticket available at £6.00. Walkers House Tea Rooms will also be offering a range of light lunches and refreshments from 12 noon.
Other historic houses are also opening to support the Northamptonshire Heritage week as follows:
Wednesday 9th September – Fotheringhay Village
Thursday 10th September – Kirby Hall & Holdenby House
Friday 11th September – Boughton House – All day seminar
