Jousting in June
JOUSTING AND MEDIEVAL VILLAGE
Sunday 12th June 2016
The Knights of Nottingham and the Oxford Household make a heraldic return to Rockingham Castle this summer. Visitors will be warmed up with a thrilling display of sword and pike drills as well as skill at arms and combat. The excitement will only continue to mount as the armour-clad knights on horseback enter the arena, their horses resplendent in colourful jousting regalia and the tension palpable. Who will reign supreme in this fast-paced display of skill and bravery set amidst the stunning Castle grounds?
After all the excitement, a wander through the living history village is a must where craftsmen display their skills, the jester entertains with jokes and tomfoolery, fire eaters mesmerise and storytellers weave tales of mystery, magic and legend.
The Castle will also be open to explore as well as our gift shop where a variety of toys and gifts can be purchased. Our licensed tearooms offer a takeaway service as well as the waitress-service restaurant or bring a picnic if you prefer. The gates and tearoom open at 12 noon with the castle opening at 1pm. Entertainment from 12 noon with the jousting commencing at 2.30pm.
